C.R.E.A.M.

I need to pinch a bit on my lifestyle. Either that or find a sugardaddy pronto. I realized it's been almost a year now since I got laid off at the travel agency and I'm still applying for other jobs at a casual rate like it's not a serious emergency. But it soooo is. A major part of the problem is I believe I'm an emotional shopper the way some people are emotional eaters. I take out some money from my account to get ready for the weekends social activities and get depressed by my balance. So what do I do? I go spend more money that I shouldn't spend just to make myself happy. Let's see, this weekend I bought 2 driver caps from the Gap (but how couldn't I? They looked so cute on me and I had a 5 dollar gift card to use -- when you spend 10 dollars or more.) I was going to just buy one, and at 4.99 on clearance I thought it was a steal. But it rang up as 2.99 which completely threw off my "use the 5 dollar gift card" plan so I went and grabbed another hat in another color. Thank goodness for Daisy's nail polish which put my total just over 10 dollars. Excellent deal. And now I've got 2 adorable hats to wear. Follow that with 50 First Dates (so cute) and noshies at Denny's. Saturday was more money spent. Sunday I actually behaved myself. And then today was Family and Friends day at my store so I nabbed some footliners (for that no-sock Puma look), some flower pins (I've recently gotten into pinning them on my purses and such to give my look a new twist. New as in I don't do floral froo-froo very much.) and a new purse. But the news that I bought yet another purse should not be very surprising to you all out there. I'm just glad I bought one and not two. I'd really like to snap a picture of this latest purse of mine. Must do that. After that I bought some yummy juicy burgers and fries and the like to throw on the grill for me and the familia (see, not everything I buy is for myself.).

Ha, clearly I am absolutely horrible at denying myself anything. Anything!

One beautiful thing that happened to me over the weekend: I found out my junkier-by-the-day job entitles me to a corporate plan with my wireless provider. You would think my employers would be gracious enough to inform us of this fact, but no. Plus, they're too busy touting our corporate deals with another wireless competitor. (I really need to get out of there, it's ruining my disposition like you wouldn't believe. I've never been a very bitter girl before.) For the same price that I was already paying (which was the lowest price available simply 'cuz I'm pretty good about watching my minutes...that and adding in voicemail and text messaging and all that stuffs add on another pretty sum on the base plan as it is) I've practically doubled my anytime minutes, not to mention my evenings and weekends are unlimited now. In my eyes, this pretty much means I'll never go over my plan ever again! And that's beeyootiful to me. Mind you, my old plan was seriously grandfathered. I clutched onto that old plan like a fiend since it included caller id and detailed billing and all those other things that the providers have since started charging extra for to new subscribers. I may have lost my per-second billing...that's up for debate until I see my new-improved cell phone bill. I wish wireless providers here were allowed to be as competitive as those in the U.S. Mijo's plan is amazing value-wise compared to anything I've seen here.

If anyone out there is, like me, obsessed about cell phones and all the good and evil that comes with it this website is a godsend. It's a great place to do research on cell phones you're considering and also providers you're thinking of subscribing to (both American and Canadian.) Without them and a little birdie from a dealer in Chinatown I would not have known that I could get a corporate deal for being a sales associate at my store. They've also helped me offer up the good and bad of each cell phone my friends think of getting. 'cuz really, a lot of those cell dealers out there are like the stereotypical used car salesman...and they give off a horrible scuzzy vibe that you simply cannot trust. Not to mention that you go to one store and they tell you one story about each phone and then you go to another store and they say the exact opposite. It's better to hear the opinions of people who have actually used these phones/services and have experience with them.

So the whole point of my post is that I spent some money this weekend, but I'm also saving some money, too. That, and if any sugardaddies are reading this please get in touch with me ASAP.
