Keep in touch Wow, I have no idea where the time goes...but I'm pooped. Friday night was practically a write-off socially. Our store had the lame-brained idea to hold a "Moonlight Madness" and hence had hourly clock specials until 11 P.M. when the rest of the mall (and our store, usually) closed at 9. The specials were apparently not good enough to draw the customers in since our store was pretty much dead after 9:30. What made it worth it was I got a good bit of Christmas shopping done. Perhaps that's where they made the most money, keep your employees in late so that they take advantage of the clock specials/late hours 'cuz obviously customers aren't doing the same. Not that I took advantage of the clock specials...I wasn't fooled either. So Friday all I did after work was Denny's with Daisy. Just relaxing. Unfortunately, Civic didn't come out with us due to the late hour. Such a fuddy duddy *teases* Saturday was different since I d
Grove St. 4 Lyfe Weird Kid bought the latest Grand Theft Auto game, San Andreas. As usual, I'm horrible at doing missions, so I leave that to him. Just like in Vice City, I just like to drive around listening to the radio and beating people up to get money. But at least this time I have a bit more purpose. I can at least tag up the city and dive for oysters. I can also feed CJ, do his workout, buy some Sprunk and snacks from the vending machine, somedays I can be good at the taxi missions...OH! And I like to jack the trains. Betting on the race track kind of bores me, and the arcade games are dumb. I'm getting tired of Los Santos, though. I can't wait for Weird Kid to open up the other two cities. I've tried swimming to the other cities, but as soon as I hit their borders I get a 4 star cop rating and end up getting shot dead in the water. Fun fun. But now I've learned about the new Sims game: The Urbz. Looking at their website, I'm pretty excit
Step by step, heart to heart, left right left we all fall down like toy soldiers. Not only am I a Bridget Jones fan but I'm also an Eminem fan so his latest, Encore, has provided the soundtrack to some of my weekend. "Ass Like That" cracks me up. Saturday was my little cousin's birthday. She turned 7 and all the family and friends went down to Tamarine for a little Vietnamese cuisine and a fun costume party. I was Paris Hilton. Blonde wig and a taco bell dog hanging out of a fake Louis Vuitton bag, done. Normally I can't stand Vietnamese food but I liked Tamarine. I attribute it to their lack of cilantro. I can't stand cilantro. Not surprisingly Weird Kid, the Vietnamese food fanatic, thought Tamarine was simply alright. Anyway, Tamarine was great news for me. Perhaps I have finally found a Vietnamese restaurant I can handle then I can join my friends for Vietnamese every once in a while. Little Lana had another opportunity to wear her unicorn c
Ba doing doing doing A pretty fun weekend if I do say so myself. As any Bridget Jones fan will tell you, Friday the Edge of Reason movie finally came out. It was a bit disappointing to note that there weren't very many theatres that invested showtimes for Bridget (there are only 4 theatres showing it in Calgary) so we ended up watching it at Eau Claire since it was showing an hour earlier than at Paramount Chinook and we still had plans for after the movie. But before Bridget Daisy and I finally got our hands on cupcakes . A very New York Sex and the City type activity. We've been trying to get there several times already but they've always either been closed or sold out for the day. It was well worth the wait, when we got there -- a full hour and a half before they were closing -- the only cupcakes they had left were "Nutty Over Chocolate" (chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting and chocolate shavings) but I was definitely not complaining. It was
You never know who's waiting for you. You never know when love is coming your way. But if tonight I look again into your eyes then it's you, and it's me you love...then it's you, and it's me you love. If you love me then you'll listen to this song right now. "It's You, It's Me" by Kaskade. It's so addictive, it's kept me bopping all week long. Yes Joe, that Brooklyn is Burning song is great, too. But right now I'm all about It's You, It's Me. For a great many years I was anti-Gap. I wasn't feeling their cookie-cutter look. But now I must say I'm an intermittent addict, particularly when they have their clearance sales. The clearance racks are always the first things I hit when I go to the Gap. And then Gap Body came along and I gave their thongs and panties a shot. Now I'm addicted to Gap Body undies. But I never bothered looking at their bras 'cuz I automatically assumed they could never poss
And I forgot to add... My Phenoms won against Bosing last Sunday. Woohoo!
The circle of friends Posie sent me this email foward the other day: When I was little, I used to believe in the concept of one best friend, and then I started to become a woman. And then I found out that if you allow your heart to open up, God would show you the best in many friends. One friend is needed when you're going through things with your man. Another friend is needed when you're going through things with your mom. Another when you want to shop, share, heal, hurt, joke, or just be. One friend will say let's pray together, another let's cry together, another let's fight together, another let's walk away together. One friend will meet your spiritual need, another your shoe fetish, another your love for movies, another will be with you in your season of confusion, another will be your clarifier, another the wind beneath your wings. But whatever their assignment in your life, on whatever the occasion, on whatever the day, or wherever you need them to mee
"Can you feel it? Can you feel it? Can you feel it?" My iTunes just fed me that Jacksons tune. I forgot all about that song...haven't heard it since I was a little girl. The vibe on that song likes to convince me that something revolutionary is going to happen. Something good is about to happen real soon. "Can you feel it?" It's like you want to toss your hands up into the air, hands shaking all jazz-hands style towards the heavens. Hallelujah! It also makes a good shimmy be-happy song. Go on try it. Left shoulder first, now go with the right. Left again. Right forward next. Shimmy those boobies. Shimmy shimmy shimmy. Now lean back. Lean back. Lean back. Lean back. Hahahaha. Now it's the Red Hot Chili Peppers "By The Way." RHCP is so hot. Hahaha, how ironic, now it's "Lean Back" by Terror Squad. My iTunes/iPod and I...we have this connection. It's kind of spooky sometimes, really. I'm very grate
And so it goes To all my American friends and readers, I'm so sorry about your country's ongoing state of affairs. Everyone knows I'm not even close to being political, (I don't understand the difference between Republicans and Democrats and truth be told my eyes would probably glaze over if you were ever to try to explain the whole thing to me) but I do know your president seriously wasn't cutting the mustard. Maybe some of your fellow citizens were afraid to vote for Kerry...something along the lines that it's easier to deal with a recognized demon than to take a leap of faith and put your trust in a new person. But I believed you guys deserved better and I guess that's not going to happen for the next little while. But I can't say I'm not enjoying the beautiful rise of my Canadian dollar. I would LOVE to be cross-border shopping right now. I'd love to be across the border right now, period. I didn't get a decent summer holiday/tri
A modern stone-aged girl I thought my Betty Rubble costume was pretty damn cute. I've got no pictures yet. I'm horrible when it comes to taking pictures, it takes me forever to finish a roll of film. Perhaps some of my coworkers or their friends have some pictures developed already. Bizkette has a pretty nice one of me from when we hung out at her place at the end of the night. As everyone knows I'm not a big fan of "staying in" on any given night, but we were just killing time waiting for her boy to get ready so we could head out again. Except that Daisy and I were so wiped out that the waiting around just put us in a dazed exhaustion mode. He was ready to go by 3, but there's nothing really open at that hour except for Denny's (which we had already been to that night) and Tim Horton's (which Bizkette didn't really want to go to) so that was the end of the evening. Basically he got all ready just to take us home. Time's up. Man, th
