A chariot awaits
The Blonde's days here in Calgary are coming to an end. But we still had our bit of fun at Coyotes again last Thursday. This time I got us a limo package to get us there in style.
Daisy even joined us despite it being a school night. :)
I regret not expanding the Luscious Sex Kittens' clubbing horizons, but I've forgotten how being a budgeting university student limits the kind of places you want to go to for a good value.
Though the Blonde was out of town on the weekend, me and the Redhead made plans to meet at Mynt Ultralounge on the Saturday. Despite having to pay cover (ah, the college student's lament) she was going to come check it out with us since rumor had it that Saturday would be the last night for the Ice Lounge.
Alas, the rumor was wrong. Daisy, Flag Girl, and I even headed out there at the unheard of clubbing hour of 9 pm just so we wouldn't have to battle the throngs who would be coming for the Ice Lounge's final night. Fate would have it that the Ice Lounge had already melted. Of course they told us this after they took our money and our coats. Of course.
On a side note, I've heard their plans for next year's Ice Lounge (I guess this one was a huge success, though I'm not too surprised.) and it's going to be a multi-level ice bar and you can even play pool on ice! Ah yes, go big or go home.
Since they already took our money we decided to wander around and make the most of the evening (after I had already called the Redhead to let her know there was no Ice Lounging to be done that night). We danced for a bit, bonded a little with a stagette party in progress...made mental notes for future stagette parties. Still bitter that there was no Ice Lounge experience in the cards we were planning on hitting up SoHo to numb our disappointment with a couple of Absinthe martinis and hot latin flavor. Unfortunately, we weren't even at Mynt 2 hours and Flag Girl fell ill. Doing the right thing, we went to get our coats to taxi back to the south with her. Of course, that was when a new guy decided to come and make our acquaintance.
"You ladies leaving so early? Oh I know, it's 'cuz you haven't seen me yet!"
Cute. As luck would have it, he was from England (there art Daisy happy) and he was black (there art Leah happy). He questioned whether or not he was actually at a hot spot since we were leaving so early and asked us for other places in the city to check out. I directed him to SoHo even though SoHo and I were not meant to be that night.
Back in the south and it wasn't even 11 pm yet. After we saw Flag Girl safely head back home we took the bus down back towards downtown, originally intending to get some martinis at Mortal Coil. Mortal Coil instead turned into food and martinis at Earl's Tin Palace followed by some beverages at Joyce On Fourth. It wasn't the great night of fun that we had banked on, but it was still salvaged.
